Frequently asked questions
Does visa medical cert expire?
A medical certificate for visa purposes has a limited shelf life. Thai embassies and consulates generally accept a certificate issued within the previous three months, while Immigration offices inside Thailand often insist on one issued within the last thirty days. Because practice differs between offices, obtain the certificate close to the filing date rather than at the start of your preparation.
Can clinics issue it?
A licensed clinic can issue the certificate as long as the signing doctor holds a current Thai Medical Council licence and the clinic stamp and licence number appear on the form. Some provincial Immigration offices nevertheless insist on a certificate from a hospital rather than a clinic, so confirm the local requirement before you pay for the examination.
Are foreign vaccine records valid in Thailand?
Yes — WHO Yellow Book is international standard / foreign jabs must list vaccine name + lot + date in English.
What's in the work permit annual physical?
Chest X-ray + blood test + drug test (HIV, syphilis, screening) + BP + urinalysis / 1 day, THB 3K–8K.
Can I get COVID vaccines in Thailand?
Yes — public + private hospitals / Pfizer/Moderna THB 600–1,500/dose / added to Mor Prom app / international card available at hospital +THB 200.
