What NAATI credential levels exist?
NAATI's current scheme covers Recognised Practising, Certified and Certified Specialist for translators, plus Provisional, Certified and Conference tiers for interpreters. Certified Translator is sufficient for standard official documents.

After NAATI's certification reform the old 'Level 3 / Professional' labels were replaced, and every practitioner must recertify periodically by logging practice hours and professional development.
For document lodgement you only need to check three things on the stamp: the translator's name, the CPN, and the expiry date.
For court, medical or legal material, prefer a translator with subject-matter background — NAATI offers Certified Specialist (Legal) and (Health) credentials, though most agencies do not require them.
Note that a higher tier does not make a document 'more accepted': agencies check that the credential is current and the direction is correct.
