Quick answer

A Thai company files at least five monthly returns: PP.30 (VAT, by the 15th), PND.1 (payroll WHT, by the 7th), PND.3/53 (vendor WHT, by the 7th), SPS.1-10 (social security, by the 15th), and sales/purchase VAT registers. NYC's full-service package starts at THB 3,500/month for micro-SMEs and THB 8,500/month for growth-stage companies.

Five monthly returns you cannot miss

1) PP.30 — VAT return (by the 15th) for every VAT-registered company. 2) PND.1 — payroll WHT 5-35% (by the 7th). 3) PND.3 — WHT on individuals 3-15% (by the 7th). 4) PND.53 — WHT on companies 1-3% (by the 7th). 5) SPS.1-10 — social security 5% capped at THB 750 per employee (by the 15th). Late filing draws at minimum a THB 200 penalty plus 1.5%/month surcharge.

Cloud accounting we support

FlowAccount (Thai-first, direct e-Tax Invoice integration with the Revenue Department), Xero (multi-currency, ideal for US/UK groups), QuickBooks Online (US GAAP, useful for group offices). NYC picks the platform against your size and migrates the data at no charge.

e-Tax Invoice / e-Receipt

The Revenue Department mandates e-Tax Invoice by Email for companies above THB 30M revenue from 2024 and recommends it for anyone seeking faster VAT refunds. NYC configures the system and delivers a bilingual 4-hour staff training plus reference manual.

Petty cash & bank reconciliation

Petty cash requires voucher + reimbursement + original receipts kept for 5 years. Bank reconciliations run within 10 days of month-end. NYC uses API-based auto-reconciliation with SCB, KTB and BBL to eliminate 60% of manual entry.

Cash-flow planning

Beyond filings, NYC produces a 13-week rolling cash-flow every quarter and warns when runway drops below 3 months, with funding-source guidance (SME Bank, BOI Loan, EXIM Bank).

  3. 3. File monthly returns

  4. 4. Monthly close pack

Deliver trial balance, P&L and balance sheet with a dashboard by the 20th of the following month.

  5. 5. Year-end + audit

Close books within 4 months of fiscal year-end and coordinate with the external CPA for SBCh.3 and DBD statutory filings.

FAQ

Can I keep books in Excel?

The Accounting Act B.E. 2543 requires audit-traceable journal and ledger records. Excel is legal only with an audit trail; the Revenue Department now cross-references electronic filings, so cloud accounting is safer.

No revenue this month — do I still file PP.30?

Yes. Every VAT-registered company must submit a PP.30 return each month even when the figures are all zero, starting from the month registration takes effect. A missed nil return draws a fine of THB 500 per month, and repeated gaps invite a Revenue Department review of the registration itself.

Do I withhold on freelancers below THB 1,000?

No — the 3% service WHT starts above THB 1,000 per contract, but vendor master data with ID copies must be kept.

Penalty for late year-end filings?

DBD fine THB 6,000 + director fine THB 6,000 + heightened Revenue Department audit risk. Timely filing lowers audit exposure by roughly 60%.

Are your fees themselves subject to 3% WHT?

Yes. Professional service fees fall under the 3 percent withholding tax rule, so a corporate client deducts that amount and issues a withholding tax certificate with payment. The deduction is not required when the payment goes through the Revenue Department's e-Withholding channel, where the bank remits the tax automatically.
