Bangladesh: not a Hague Apostille party
Bangladesh has not acceded to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention as of mid-2026. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Segunbagicha, Dhaka) continues the three-step consular legalisation system: origin MFA + Embassy of Bangladesh abroad + MOFA Dhaka before acceptance by BIDA (Bangladesh Investment Development Authority), Bangladesh Bank, the Registrar Office, or Family Court.

Muslim Marriage (Nikah) at a Kazi Office under the Muslim Marriages & Divorces Registration Act 1974 requires a religion certificate in addition to the full chain.
RJSC Company Filing requires full-chain degree + Power of Attorney for foreign company registration at the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies.

Bangladesh-specific pitfalls
1) The Muslim Marriages Act requires a religion certificate (issued by a Thai mosque via the Islamic Committee of Thailand, then full chain).
2) BIDA E-Visa freshness: Police Clearance ≤3 months; degrees not time-limited but the role must match the field of study.
3) Bangla translation must be done in Bangladesh by a Notary Public–approved translator at BDT 500–1,500/page; Family Court and Special Marriage Registrar accept only local translations.
4) The Embassy is closed Fridays plus National Day (26 March) and Victory Day (16 December) — NYC checks the calendar before booking.
5) Bangladesh Bank requires original full-chain Board Resolution + bank statement for inward remittance >USD 10,000, reportable through an Authorized Dealer Bank within 14 days.
