Türkiye: Hague Apostille + Noter Tasdiki
Türkiye Cumhuriyeti signed the Hague Apostille Convention 1961 on 8 May 1962, ratified 31 July 1985, with effect from 29 September 1985. Thai MFA-Apostilled documents are accepted directly by Nüfus ve Vatandaşlık İşleri Genel Müdürlüğü (civil registration), Tapu ve Kadastro Genel Müdürlüğü (land registry), MERSİS (central company registry), Noter (notary), İŞKUR (employment agency), and Göç İdaresi (migration directorate). Embassy of Türkiye Bangkok (Pan Soi, Sathorn) or MFA Ankara is no longer required.
Notarial Law 1512 (1972) Art. 103 requires that foreign documents used in Türkiye carry a Turkish translation by a Yeminli Tercüman (sworn translator) registered with a district Noter + Noter Tasdiki (notary attestation). Translations from Thailand are valid at the Apostille step but rejected by Nüfus, Tapu, Court, MERSİS — re-translation in İstanbul / Ankara / İzmir is mandatory.

Türkiye-specific cautions
1) Notarial Law 1512/1972 Art. 103 requires Yeminli Tercüman + Noter Tasdiki — sworn translators must take an oath before a district Noter (Yemin Zaptı). Thailand-based translators cannot satisfy this. NYC partners with Noter offices in Şişli (İstanbul), Çankaya (Ankara), Konak (İzmir).
2) Civil Code 4721 Art. 130 + Marriage Regulation 1985 requires a Thai Certificate of No Impediment (Evlenme Ehliyet Belgesi) + Apostille + Türkçe translation. Single Status valid ≤6 months. Minimum age 17 (under 18 requires court permission).
3) Land Registry Law 2644/1934 Art. 35: foreigners may own up to 30 ha total + ≤10% per district. Military Forbidden Zones (Interior Ministry list) and Strategic Areas off-limits. Tapu Sicil + Military Forbidden Zone Command (Askeri Yasak Bölge Komutanlığı) review takes 30–60 days.
4) Citizenship by Investment: USD 400,000 property with 'satılamaz 3 yıl' (no-sale 3 years) annotation on Tapu; or USD 500,000 Lira deposit 3 years; or USD 500,000 Fixed Capital; or 50 jobs created; or USD 500,000 Government Bond 3 years. NYC handles full chain + POA + Yeminli Tercüman.
5) Inflation Risk: TRY has depreciated heavily (USD 1 = TRY 40+ as of July 2026, up from TRY 18 in 2022). For TRY deposits use KKM (Kur Korumalı Mevduat — FX-protected) at Ziraat, Halkbank, VakıfBank. Use Wise / Revolut over SWIFT for better rates.
